commanded to love

commanded to love

I give you a new commandment: that you should LOVE one another. Just as I have loved you, so you too should LOVE one another. By this shall all [men] know that you are My disciples, if you LOVE one another [if you keep on showing LOVE among yourselves].
John 13:34-35

I am commanded to LOVE you and Scripture leaves no mystery to what that looks like (Luke 6:31, Romans 13:10, 1 Corinthians 13:4-8).

Christianity involves radical LOVE and it brings such peace to my life when I hold tight to this, but when I let these slip from hands, anger and overwhelming strife takes over.

I can be as stubborn as an ass and very quick to share my opinion so this is a road I’ve traveled many times…

The two bundles of emotion are in such stark contrast to one another that I find the aforementioned verse to be too practical to not embrace.

I’m going to continue to LOVE and read my Bible, follow the Scriptures as much as I possible can and pray and repent when I fail.

And LOVE.

❤ We don’t have to agree on everything with someone to LOVE them as Scripture has commanded us to do.
